I lost another pound!!! That makes 2 pounds so far. I would love to have lost more, but at least the scale is moving in the right direction.
This past week's Body after Baby challenge was to eat healthy, balanced meals. I didn't do great....but, I earned 11 points. I'll take it!
Last week was a rather emotional one for me, so I am hoping that this week will be better since I am in a better frame of mind.
Goals for Week 4:
--lose 2 pounds
--continue walking 30 minutes a day
-- 50 sit ups every day
Let's hope this is the week I lose 2 pounds!!!

Tuesday update: Mama Notes Body After Baby Challenge
To sum up last week's challenge: I did bad.
I had great intentions, but failed to remember that we would be busy driving all over the place this weekend to visit several friends in the area. I still managed to pull off some walking, but no where near an hour a day as I had planned. I did 3 1/2 hours for the week, which gives me 14 points for this week (right?).
I also didn't manage to lose a single pound. But, I didn't gain any either.
Goals for this week:
eat balanced meals for EVERY meal
lose 2 pounds
walk 30 minutes each day

Tuesday update: Week 2
Week one is done. I felt pretty good this week!
Water Challenge: I didn't manage to drink as much as I would have liked, but averaged about 80 ounces per day. That means I earned the maximum points for this week's challenge! 56 points for me!
Weight loss: Sadly, I only lost 1 pound. At least the scale went in the right direction :).
Overall: I felt pretty good about my habits this past week. I walked nearly everyday, and ate relatively healthy (and definitely healthier than I have been eating).
Looking forward:
I am looking forward to this week's Body After Baby Challenge: exercise! I think that is going to be my key to weight loss.
Goals:
--loose 2 pounds this week
--walk 1 hour per day (will likely be broken into 2 chunks)
--drink 80 ounces of water per day
--limit of one diet soda per day (I need to get this under control!!!)

Mid week update: Week One
We are halfway through week one of the challenge!
So far this week:
I have walked at least 20 minutes each evening.
I have averaged 85 ounces of water per day.
I have had at least 4 servings of fruits/veggies per day.
Of course, I'd like to get these amounts higher as the weeks progress. But, I am pretty happy with the progress so far!

Tuesday Update: Week 1
Alright, so far so good.
I'm a couple of days into Mama Notes' Body After Baby Challenge and I haven't died or quit. These were two likely outcomes, both of which I am happy to have avoided thus far.
My goals for this week (because trying to think about big goals makes my head hurt):
lose 2 pounds (sounds way easier than my overall goal of 11)
drink 6 glasses of water a day from my trusty (non-plastic!) water bottle
eat a balanced diet
walk for 20 minutes each day
I've been eating pretty good these last few days. It isn't that I don't like healthy food, it is just that I am bad at planning ahead for meals, snacks, etc. So, each night I have been trying to plan for the next day. I even made tonight's dinner last night since I knew we'd be rushed on time this evening. I'm learning to make my meals as accessible as fast food so I can avoid the temptation to just run out and get something.
Off to refill the water bottle!

Getting the show on the road
Alright, it's time to get this party started.
Current weight: 171
Challenge goal: 160
How the heck will I make this happen? Good question.
Answer:
- balanced diet (tracking my calories planning meals ahead of time)
- increased excercise (walking at least 20 minutes a day)
- improved sleep habits
I'll detail more of this as time goes on...for now, I'm working on one day at a time.
